After a smaller scale gathering last year thanks to Covid, this year Chesapeake Light Craft’s Big Little Boat Festival runs from this Friday 27 – Sunday 29 May 2022 and looks set to be an unmissable celebration of small boats and their boatbuilders.
With three days of on-water demos and racing, technical seminars, interactive boatbuilding, plus live music, food and camping on-site at Camp Wabanna, just south of Annapolis, MD, it’s just a shame we’re three thousand miles away!
CLC will be taking over 50 of their boats plus the Teardrop Camper to the event and festival-goers are encouraged to take their own. Walk-ins welcome! There’s plenty of space and facilities to launch nearby and racing ranges from a fun scavenger hunt to an advanced 20-mile race down the Chesapeake Bay.
The weekend features talks and instruction from leading names, including CLC’s own John C. Harris and legendary kayak designer-builder Nick Schade. And if this all sounds too serious, why not enter the family cardboard boatbuilding and racing from 1030 on Saturday? For more details and registration, head to https://clcboats.com/blbf#boatlist
