WATER CRAFT PRIVACY POLICIES, 2018

Water Craft is an independent, international magazine, published in the UK by Pete Greenfield Publishing since 1997.  We retain only such customer & supplier information as is necessary to fulfil our commercial obligations, as follows:

SUBSCRIBERS:  To fulfil your magazine subscription, we need only your name and full postal address, date of purchase and amount paid. This information is retained on secure databases on two Mac computers to allow us to supply the appropriate address lists to the mailing house as each issue is published. No other information is required though it helps considerably if you also provide a telephone number and/or email address. None of this information has been or will be given, loaned or sold to any third party, unless, should the Water Craft business be sold – for which we have no plans! – the address lists will need to be provided to the buyer to allow outstanding subscriptions to be fulfilled. When subscribers supply credit/debit card details for a purchase, these details are not entered on any of our computers and kept as paper records only until the payment is processed. These policies also apply to purchases of single issues, back numbers and books.

ADVERTISERS: To publish your advertisements of whatever size and type, we need the usual business contact information to fulfil the booking  which will be kept on secure databases on our Macs. Any other confidential business information  which is offered or arises in the course of these communications will be kept as secure paper records only and deleted on request. Advertisers should own the copyright or have permission to use all the elements of artwork including photographs supplied to us for advertisements and these will not be passed in whole or part to any third party by us or the magazine printer without the advertiser’s express permission. Except – and again this is included for clarity only – should the Water Craft business be sold – for which we still have no plans! – the relevant artwork will need to be provided to the buyer to allow outstanding bookings to be fulfilled. As above, when advertisers pay by credit/debit card, the card details are not entered on our computers and kept as paper records only until the payment is processed.

CONTRIBUTORS:  To publish your material in Water Craft, whether it’s a brief announcement or a full article, we need full contact information which will be retained on our computers together with your material. Contributors must have permission to include any material from third parties they send for possible publication. Contributor’s material and contact details will not passed on to readers or any other third parties without the contributor’s express permission.
